Press Release:
Up to £6000 Scottish Government Cashback for Solid Wall Insulation from June

Release Date 09 May 2014

Following the announcement by the Scottish Government of its new Green Homes Cashback scheme, the National Insulation Association (NIA) is advising householders to take advantage of the scheme to upgrade their property's energy efficiency and be able to claim up to £6000 for Solid Wall Insulation (SWI).

Neil Marshall, Chief Executive of the NIA commented: "The NIA welcomes the new £15m scheme being introduced by the Scottish Government in June, and its continued commitment to supporting insulation companies in Scotland and to helping households to address their cost of living. Householders installing more insulation measures will deliver long terms sustainable savings on their energy bills."

Under the new phase of Green Homes Cashback householders can apply for:

- 75% of the cost of Solid Wall Insulation up to a maximum of £6000, and;

- Up to £1200 for a range of other recommended energy efficiency measures, from within three categories

- And claim up to £100 refund for their Green Deal Assessment Report if at least one recommended measure is installed.

Marshall added: "In fact, by installing SWI savings of up to £460* per year can be made and £250* per year from CWI. Loft Insulation can also save up to £250* per year and Draught-proofing windows and doors can save between £35 and £50* per year and when installed with other measures will greatly increase the comfort in a home."

The NIA is urging householders to contact a local NIA member as soon as the scheme opens to find out if their home requires additional insulation and for details of the Green Homes Cashback scheme, also any other support that might be available to help with paying for insulation measures.

Householders can be safe in the knowledge that an NIA installer will have signed up to a strict Code of Professional Practice, meaning peace of mind comes as standard with an NIA member.

To find a local NIA member and details on the Green Homes Cashback scheme, householders and landlords should visit the NIA website or call 08451 636363.
