Release Date 01 October 2013

The National Insulation Association's (NIA) Annual Conference is taking place at The Holiday Inn, Stratford upon Avon, on Thursday 5th December 2013 and this year's line-up of guest speakers has now been confirmed.

Neil Marshall, Chief Executive of the NIA commented: "Delegates will have the opportunity of hearing from a number of high profile, influential and informed guest speakers on key developments and opportunities for the insulation industry."

The speakers are:

- Paul King, Chief Executive of the UK Green Building Council

- Lawrence Slade, Chief Operating Officer of Energy UK

- Dave Sowden, Chief Executive of the Micropower Council

- Claire Curtis-Thomas, Chief Executive of the British Board of Agrément

- Richard Lambert, Chief Executive of the National Landlords Association.

Representatives from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Ofgem and Gemserv will also be attending and taking part in a panel session on the Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation.

Marshall went on to say: "Our Conference is very important to our members as it provides the opportunity for them to receive updates on key industry developments and opportunities and have any questions answered. Our guest speakers represent a broad cross section of the energy/energy efficiency industry and will be able to set out their views on the range of opportunities for the insulation industry going forward.

"The Conference is also an important networking event for NIA members and therefore in addition to the guest speakers we have invited a range of external guests to join us at the Conference including energy suppliers, Green Deal Providers, CITB, Energy Saving Trust and the Association for the Conservation of Energy."

The NIA Conference is now firmly established as the Insulation Industry Event of the Year with around 300 delegates attending and it also incorporates a major exhibition area and black tie gala dinner.

Special events such as these are just one of the many benefits of becoming a member of the NIA. Companies wishing to join the NIA should contact Bev Coombe by emailing: bev.coombe@nia-uk.org
