DECC and OFGEM address NIA Green Deal Events

The National Insulation Association (NIA) recently held two special briefing events for its members to provide the latest news and up-dates regarding the Governments' new Green Deal and Energy Company Obligation.

Attended by over 200 people, the events included updates from The Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) and an official from the Office of Gas and Electricity Markets (Ofgem) who addressed key issues and took questions from NIA members.

The events also included briefings from the NIA on how it was supporting its members in gearing up for and accessing the Green Deal in order to aid with their business planning.

Other guest speakers included, Mark Weaver from the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA),British Board of Agrément and Energy Saving Trust Certification Bodies, Citation plc and Oval Insurance.

Neil Marshall, Chief Executive of the NIA, commented: "These two events have been extremely important in providing our members with the latest information on the Green Deal and ECO and informing our members of the NIA’s latest plans to maximise the opportunities they provide for solid wall insulation and insulating hard to treat cavities."
