Release Date 21 November 2011
The Annual Conference of the National Insulation Association (NIA) will take place at The Harrogate International Centre, in Harrogate, on Thursday 1st December 2011.
The conference promises to be an extremely informative and enjoyable event for everyone involved in the insulation industry (solid wall insulation, cavity wall insulation, loft insulation and draught proofing). Regarded as the ‘Industry Event of the Year’ there will be around 300 delegates attending from the insulation industry along with, Government officials, energy suppliers and other key external stakeholders from the energy efficiency and fuel poverty sectors.
The focus of the conference will be on preparations for the Governments new Green Deal programme and Energy Company Obligation. Delegates will be provided with a comprehensive briefing and details of the opportunities and impact these new policies will have on their businesses going forward. In addition, they will receive an update on the work the NIA has undertaken over the past year with Government departments, briefing key external stakeholders and participating in Ministerial Green Deal forums in helping to develop these new policies.
Delegates will also hear from a wide range of influential external speakers during the conference including representatives from the Department of Energy and Climate Change, Which? magazine, Kingfisher, the Energy Retail Association, Association for the Conservation of Energy Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and the Local Government Association.
An added attraction is the “exhibition area” which has been incorporated into the day’s events for the third year running which has grown in size by 40% on 2010 with 23 exhibitors this year.
The day culminates with an awards ceremony, which is held during a prestigious Gala Dinner in the evening. More news of the award winners will be available immediately afterwards.
